This week in Year 3, we have been busy exploring the world of measurement. The children have been learning about millimetres, centimetres and metres, and have been practising converting between different units. They have worked hard to apply their understanding using accurate mathematical vocabulary and have shown growing confidence when measuring a range of objects.
To bring our learning to life, we took our maths outside and explored measurement in the playground. The children enjoyed using a variety of tools to measure real objects, working collaboratively and thinking carefully about which units were most appropriate. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and how they are beginning to use measurement in a practical and meaningful way.
