We had a truly wonderful Bedtime Stories Day across the school, and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a special celebration of reading. We welcomed parents and carers into our classroom to share stories together, bringing along favourite books from home. Our classroom was filled with laughter, imagination and magical moments as we shared our love of stories, talked about our favourite characters and enjoyed listening to stories together.
After our visitors left, we continued to immerse ourselves in storytelling through a range of activities. We explored stories through craft, painting, reading and imaginative play, created our very own cosy reading den, and even made bedtime story snacks to enjoy while sharing more stories with our friends. Through play and conversation, we developed our confidence to retell stories, share ideas and express our own story experiences. The excitement continued with a visit to the book hut, where we each chose a book to take home and enjoy with our families.
It was a joyful day that celebrated the importance of reading, imagination and sharing stories together, helping us to build a lifelong love of books.
