Year 4 had an exciting and informative visit to Holborn Library to learn about the history of Somers Town. During the visit, we explored a range of different historical sources, including photographs, maps and written records, which helped us understand how the area has changed over time. We learned about the early history of St Pancras and how the local area developed. We then looked at Victorian times, discovering what life was like for people living in Somers Town and why this period was so important. One of the most interesting parts of the visit was learning about the importance of the railways and how they shaped the community and the growth of the area. We also explored how housing in Somers Town has changed and improved over the years, comparing homes from the past with those we see today. Year 4 really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from their trip to Holborn Library.
