Year 1 took part in a wonderful anti-bullying workshop as part of their PSHE learning. The children explored what kindness looks like in everyday situations and learnt how their words and actions can make others feel included and valued. They also talked about equality, celebrating the fact that everyone is unique and deserves to be treated with respect. The workshop helped the class understand how to recognise unkind behaviour and what they can do to help themselves and others. They left feeling confident, empowered, and ready to spread kindness throughout our school community.

In addition, this week Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic visit from Bloomsbury who shared their book Super Great Kids’ Stories through interactive and animated storytelling. The children were fully engaged throughout the session and took part in bringing the story to life by helping the author create characters, actions, and ideas. The session supported our focus on developing a love of reading and rich oral language. They were encouraged to use their imagination, contribute confidently, and build on one another’s ideas. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to see how stories are crafted and to be inspired as young writers themselves.
