Year 2 took part in a fantastic Anti Bullying Workshop led by the inspiring Bigfoot Theatre Company. The session focused on celebrating what makes each of us unique and recognising that our individuality is our superpower! The children explored important ideas such as discrimination and equity, discussing what these words mean in their own lives — from “treating everyone fairly even if they’re different” to “making sure everyone gets what they need to be happy and included.”

In the afternoon we were treated to a magical storytelling workshop with the amazing Kim Normanton creator of the wonderful Super Great Kids’ Stories. We’ve loved reading these tales in class but Kim truly brought them to life and we were absolutely captivated!

Thanks to Kim and Bloomsbury Publishing every child in Year 1 and Year 2 received their very own brand new hardback copy of the book. We were completely thrilled (and a little bit speechless!) The storytelling, the quality of the book and the generosity behind this gift were simply incredible. 📚✨

And as if that wasn’t enough we ended the week by planting apple trees in our school grounds kindly supported by Phoenix Court. We can’t wait to watch our little orchard grow and hopefully enjoy some delicious apples in a year or two! 🍎

It truly has been a wonderful week in Year 2 full of learning, kindness, creativity and community spirit. 💛
