When we went outside, we noticed something enormous sticking out of the ground. It looked like a giant vegetable! There was even a note that said, “Only adults can touch this!” Miss Davies gave it a try, but it was far too heavy for her to pull out on her own.

We decided to work together to help. We pulled and pulled — heave, ho! — until suddenly, out popped an ENORMOUS TURNIP! We were so surprised and excited! It was huge, and even Mr Walker found it tricky to hold.

We’re still not sure who planted it, but it made us really curious. Back in class, we’ve been talking about where vegetables come from, how they grow, and what they are used for. We’ve been learning new vocabulary, asking lots of questions, and sharing our ideas. The enormous turnip has inspired our play, our discussions, and our storytelling this week — we can’t wait to see what we might discover next in our garden!
