Year 2 had a fantastic time celebrating Healthy Minds Day! We began with a wonderful assembly led by Miss Harrison, which set a positive tone for the day.
Later, we explored the topic of emotions and discussed how everyone experiences different feelings. We read Rubyโs Worry, a lovely story that reminded us how important it is to talk about our worries so we can start to feel better. This led to a thoughtful conversation about the trusted adults we can speak to in school.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a nature walk in our garden, searching for leaves of different shapes and sizes. This calm, mindful activity inspired our art lesson, where we used the leaves to make leaf rubbings and painted over them, blending primary colours to create secondary colours.
To finish our day, we designed our own emojis to represent a range of emotions . What a fun way to show what we had learned about recognising and expressing feelings.
It was a wonderful day of reflection, creativity, and connection!
