In Year One, we have been learning how to use atlases to find the United Kingdom. The children enjoyed becoming detectives as they searched the maps and discovered that the UK is made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We talked about the different parts of the UK and how they all join together to make one country. The children also made links to our history learning by thinking about where the King and Queen live in England, helping them to understand more about our country and the people who are important today.
