Year 2 have had a wonderfully successful start to the new school year. Over the past few days, the children have thrown themselves into a variety of engaging maths activities, from dice games and number lines to estimating and guessing amounts. Their ability to follow instructions and demonstrate strong number knowledge has been truly impressive. Best of all, it seems that every single Year 2 child absolutely loves maths!
Alongside maths, we have also spent time this week focusing on PSHE – specifically friendship. The children took part in a Diamond 9 activity, ranking the most important qualities of a good friend. Together, we agreed that friends truly make the world a better place, especially those who listen, show kindness, and are honest.
Thank you, Year 2, for such a lovely start back to the term; you are already impressing me massively!
