This week, Reception enjoyed an exciting trip to the Camden Learning Centre for a hands-on programming workshop. The children began the session using Scratch Jr, where they helped a bear find honey by creating simple sequences of code. It was fantastic to see their growing confidence as they worked through each challenge and celebrated their successes together.

Next, they explored two engaging coding games on Busy Things: Block-a-doodle-doo and Helicopter Rescue. These fun activities helped the children practise giving instructions, solving problems and thinking logically – all key skills in early computing.

To finish off the session, the children explored Chrome Music Lab, where they created their own digital music. They experimented with pitch, rhythm and sound, making some wonderfully imaginative compositions.

Throughout the visit, the children showed excellent listening, teamwork and curiosity. Their behaviour was fantastic and they represented our school brilliantly. I am so proud of each and every one of them for their enthusiasm, focus and positive attitude. Well done, Reception!
