STMP has  ‘School Faith Council.’ This group of children had to apply for their role and were voted in through an election by their classmates. Real experience of the election process!

The group meets regularly with Dita, the Nursery teacher, and takes action on behalf of the pupil body, speaking to their peers and finding out their views.

They are very diligent! They have been successful in asking the Headteacher for money to buy more playground equipment and now the children have space-hoppers which they love. They have also redrafted our school prayer.

Our children love to talk about the school. They spoke to the Governors Vision Impact Committee recently.

‘What do you like about this school?’

  • Everything! Assembly, healthy food, lunchtime, the games and music.
  • Golden time and D.T.
  • There’s no bullying-everyone likes each other. The school participates in football tournaments. I like the school brass band.
  • We learn a lot and make new friends.
  • I like eating lunch, phonics and star of the week.
  • We have nice teachers-they are fun. Its a colourful school. Its good-we are never bored.
  • Booster!  There’s a good mix of personalities  such as children with needs and diversity. Every child is on the website!
  • We get to learn a new thing every single day. We like the skipping  ropes, bouncy balls and monkey bars.
  • History. Maths. My friends. Its a pretty good school!

‘If you are struggling with your feelings, how do the staff help you?’

  • They comfort us.
  • The support in the playground.
  • They make you feel better and cheer you up.
  • They Call Mummy.
  • We have a worry box-we write it down, draw pictures and put them in the box.
  • I can trust my teachers.
  • They give you time to be quiet.
