This week in Year 5 we have been cooking some delicious Bengali food! Our Geography topic for this term focused on comparing the UK with Bangladesh and this week it was time to compare the two cuisines. We decided to make a Bengali dish called pakoras which are made with gram flour, potatoes, onions, cauliflowers and spices. First we had to do research and plan our recipes, some people decided they didn’t want to make theirs spicy and some people decided that they didn’t want to add cauliflower to their recipes. After we wrote our recipes it was time to cook! We prepared our batter in the classroom and then took them downstairs to fry. Finally, we ate them and they were delicious!
