This week, year 3 have been enjoying their time participating in a circuit of athletics competitions during P.E. We have learned that when you compete, you don’t always succeed. However, this can help us become more resilient and goal oriented.  As we increased our practice times, we became more confident in our running, jumping and throwing and had a lot of fun being active and healthy.

At first, we though that some children were faster runners than others but soon enough, we could see that the basis for speed is proper running technique and, the earlier you learn that, the faster you can be.

By learning good fundamental movement skills via athletics, year 3 will be more likely to try out new sports and begin to develop all the necessary skills to help improve our school cricket, dodgeball, football and benchball teams in the future.
