Dear Parents and Carers,
To those of you who have been celebrating the end of Ramadan; Eid Mubarak!
Firstly, thank you so much for the many messages and emails of thanks and support for the work of our school. The Governors and staff are only too well aware of how tough it has been for you in recent weeks to look after your children at home, especially under the limitations of lockdown. We are as keen as you are to get back to normal. We know that you have had an awful lot to deal with and remain in awe of your determination to come through the other side of this situation.
In line with all schools, we have been open throughout to provide critical childcare.
From June 2nd, we are open to those children whose parents in Y6,Y1 and Reception responded to our survey saying they would like their child to come back to school. We have used these responses to carefully plan groups, or ‘Bubbles’, which will be socially distanced from each other throughout the day.
These groups are fixed from June 2nd -12th. This means that we are not able to accept any more children back during this period. We will survey all Y6,Y1 and R parents again for the week beginning 15th June.
The school has made extensive preparations for June 2nd, following all Government guidance, which has been written into a comprehensive Risk Assessment, approved by the Governors and Camden. Measures implemented include but are not limited to:
- Enhanced cleaning procedures throughout the day
- Staggered arrival and collection times, break and lunch times for each group / bubble
- Cleaning our hands more often than usual and promoting the ‘Catch-it, Bin -it, Kill-it approach’
- Reorganising the learning space and resources available
- Amending the First Aid and Behaviour Policies, including appropriate use of PPE
- Expectations for staff, parents and children attending the site.
We are using our Inset Day on June 1st to familiarise staff on how school will look and operate for the next few weeks to keep your children as safe as possible.
Admissions to Reception: We have places available in our Reception class for September 2020. If you would like your child to attend our Reception class, then please contact the school on email@example.com and we will guide you through the process.
Admissions into Nursery: The Nursery letters have gone out to parents. If you were expecting a letter and have not received one, please email the school on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the school on 0207-387-6117 between 9am and 11:30am this week. If you have received your offer letter, please confirm you wish to take up the place as soon as possible by emailing the school email@example.com
Home Learning Support: This will look different from June 1st as the school opens to more pupils and staff are working in school. Each teacher will post links on the Year Group home learning area to lessons as well as a menu of suggested activities.
The BBC daily lessons with an English, Maths and Science focus for children aged 4-11 can be found on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize.
These lessons have been produced to support you when at home with your children.
We continue to think of you all and look forward to when we can all be back at school,
Ms J Belton: Headteacher
