Message from the Head Teacher

I am very pleased to welcome you to the St Mary and St Pancras CE School website. We are a one – form entry school in the heart of Somers Town and are proud to serve our diverse local community, teaching children aged 3-11. As an LDBS School, we have a strong Christian ethos and very close links with St Mary’s Church and St Pancras New Church. Every aspect of our work is underpinned by our distinct Christian values; friendship, forgiveness, endurance, respect and thankfulness. We pride ourselves on our warm relationships with our children and their families and the staff team work tirelessly to provide a high-quality education within our safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Our Music provision is pretty special; our children learn early on to be confident performers. We offer a rich curriculum bursting with trips, visits and performances and teach Philosophy for Children ( P4C) across the school to develop our children’s critical thinking and collaborative discussion skills.

St Mary and St Pancras CE Primary School is a state-funded Voluntary Aided School with a Nursery. The London Diocesan Board for Schools has an influence in the running of the school and contributes to its building costs. The majority of the Governing Body are Foundation Governors; the Governing Body are the school’s employers and it is their duty to maintain the school’s distinctive Church of England character. The school is its own Admissions Authority, is in control of its own RE curriculum and offers an act of daily worship which is predominantly Christian in character. Our children come from all faiths and backgrounds and are happy and very well-behaved in school.

I hope that the website gives you the information you are looking for. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit-you are more than welcome.
