Year six is progressing in rugby at a record pace!

This term the year six children have been practicing a variety of skills playing tag rugby. They have been learning how to evade and tag opponents, pass and receive a pass at speed and understand how to apply a certain level of team tactics in a game situation. Most importantly, they are learning that playing rugby is enjoyable, incorporates several physical, social, and mental skills and offers children of all abilities an equal opportunity to run with the ball, pass it and play defence.

Lastly, when playing tag rugby, our students learn how to communicate new ideas, use communication to address problems collectively as a team and listen to their teammates as part of a group. Every week they seem to become more confident rugby players and we have been very proud of their progress during the spring term.
