Year five’s art work depicting the Queen

All week long, year five has been making preparations for the Queens’s Jubilee celebration. We are celebrating and recognising that Queen Elizabeth II will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.

To mark this special occasion, our school has decided to sketch, design and paint a portrait of her majesty to commemorate this exciting day in British history.

As we continued to sketch, modify and improve our portraits, we had ample time to discuss, interpret and criticise the process of our art work. We found it very rewarding to have the opportunity to create our portraits knowing that they would be used as a special whole school display to mark this magnificent moment in modern history.
