Welcome back to the last term of Year 3.
This week in Maths, year 3 began to look at pounds and pence. They learnt how to convert between the two and how add money together. On Tuesday, we explore what money looked like as well as drawing out the different coins and writing descriptions to help us remember them.
In English, we started to read our new class book, The Lost Happy Endings by Carol Ann Duffy. The children wrote setting descriptions about the forest where Jub lived and the home that she had built for herself.
In science, we were introduced to Forces, more specifically push and pull and we had experimented with factors around the classroom and decided in they had a push or pull motion or if some objects used both.

Each week we will be focusing on speed tests and individual times tables in mental maths.
This week I would like you to complete your Speed test. Remember you have 10 minutes.
Times Tables
These will be tested on Friday. This week, please revised the 6 times table at home.
Mathletics – You have been set tasks on Mathletics that will help you recap the work that we have covered so far this half-term. The expectation is that you use Mathletics at least 2 times, for at least 30 minutes each time.
Topic
In Topic this term, we will be continuing to explore the exciting world of the Romans. This week, I would like for you to create a Roman helmet that you can wear, using the structure we made in class.
You can use objects around your home to create this helmet, for example, use tin foil to create the shiny metal look of the helmet.
