Year 2 has been learning all about Scotland this week, including The Legend of the Loch Ness Monster!

The children first look at Scotland’s location within the U.K, as well as its flag, national flower and capital city. Afterwards, we looked at famous landmarks and foods and finally explored the story of the Loch Ness Monster. The children will be writing a ‘spooky story’ involving the Loch Ness Monster later this week and in preparation, we painted pictures of Loch Ness with the monster swimming in the water. Children explored how to hold a brush properly, select appropriate colours and how to paint effectively using accurate brush strokes.
