Year 2 has our first Shakespeare Project session with John today.
For those who don’t know, the Shakespeare Project is a program that has been running in our school for some time and is delivered by the Primary Shakespeare Company. First, one of Shakespeare’s plays is chosen – this year we will be performing Twelfth Night.
Next, a theatre practitioner from the company visits our school and works with the children, and helps prepare for their performance.
Over the following six sessions the children will develop their drama skills and eventually perform one act of ‘Twelfth Night’ on stage, viewed by their friends, family and children from other schools.
It is an incredibly rewarding program and last year’s results were simply spectacular. I am so excited to be involved again.
