Wow! What a show!
Scattered around the playground in our class bubbles, we all got to enjoy our very first concert in 18 months! And what a show it was!
Year 5 led the way showing what a fantastic band they have become this year! A highlight of their performance was definitely When the Saints and The Chicken Shop Swing. Mr Lopez and Mr Dunning really stepped up for the occasion by wearing their bowties.
Year 4 Trumpet Club joined in with some favourites including The Lion Sleeps Tonight. It was great to have them join the band for the first time.
We were really well entertained by Year 6 who played a range of pieces from movies as well as classics like Ode to Joy. The theme from Rocky proved to be a highlight with the audience.
Three of our pupils attend Camden’s Brass Exchange on a Saturday and so performed one of their favourite pieces for us, 500 Miles.
An absolute highlight for everyone was having brass students from the Royal Academy of Music join us for the occasion. As well as supporting our bands by playing along with us, they entertained us with three pieces which we all loved! They started with a fanfare which was very exciting and finished with a pop tune that had us all humming along. We can’t wait for them to come back and play for us again!
We are already looking forward to next years Proms in the Playground!
