On Monday Year 1 went on a trip to the Jewish Museum. This trip formed part of our Religion program titled ‘What is it like to live as a Jew?’.
The children had a fantastic time learning more about the significance of certain Jewish artefacts and impressed all adults with their prior knowledge.
We enjoyed handling different artefacts we had not seen before. We learned a lot about the Torah and then even got to have a go ourselves using a quill and ink to write some Hebrew letters.
In the second half of the session we learned all about the ‘Shabbat’. We got to help set the table, make our own Havdalah candles and were even lucky enough to try some Challah and fruit juice.
A wonderful trip enjoyed by all!
