This week our children were encouraged to use their visual thinking strategies to develop and write an imaginary story setting in their morning literacy hour. That afternoon, they were able to convert their ideas from their stories into a colourful sketch during an art lesson.

Throughout the day, year five did a marvellous job creating a vivid, lively world where their main characters could travel to after entering a magical door. I was most impressed with their imagination, vocabulary, writing techniques and artistic talents that tickled the imagination and captured their audiences’ visual appetites with ease.
