As part of our Science topic, this week we learnt about dissolving. We learnt a lot of new vocabulary such as solute (something you want to dissolve), solvent (a liquid you want to dissolve a solute into) and solution (when a solute is dissolved into a solvent – a mixture). First we predicted which of the solutes would dissolve into the water and then we tested to see which ones would. We left them on the window sill for a few days to see what would happen and then we recorded our results and made our conclusions.
