Year 4 Feature in London Art Exhibition

In London, art is not confined to the walls of museums; we are surrounded by it and inhabit it daily. This piece of art is inspired by the shadows created from the trees in Euston Square Gardens. Year 4 sketched the shadows formed by the trees directly onto paper to create abstract shapes. We then returned to our classroom and worked into the designs using black paint to represent the shadows formed by the trees and suggest the light filtering through the branches. Year 4 discussed what the image would look like if the trees were no longer there. We concluded that “we might as well leave the paper blank”.
