Message from the Church
St Mary & St Pancras Church of England Primary School encourages those children already involved in the Christian faith and hopes to bring a spiritual awareness to those of no faith. We also welcome children from all faiths and support them on their spiritual journey.
The school has a strong and historic relationship with two local churches: St Mary’s and St Pancras. Once a week an assembly in school is led by either Fr Paschal Worton (Vicar of St Mary’s) or The Revd Anne Stevens (Vicar of St Pancras). The children attend a monthly church assembly, and we celebrate the major Christian festivals – such as Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Easter, Mothering Sunday and Harvest – at one of our two churches.
In addition, both vicars are members of the governing body, and the church councils appoint several other governors.
As a Christian school, we believe every child matters to God. We celebrate the cultural and religious diversity of our school community where all members can develop in an environment of mutual co-operation and respect.
