Making equal groups of 2, 5 and 10!

This week in Maths we have been learning to make equal groups, using our knowledge of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. In one of our lessons this week, the children were given an amount. Using their problem solving skills, they had to use cubes to see how many equal groups of 2, 5, and 10 they could make and record their answers on their whiteboards.

When the children had to think of their own number, they realised that some amounts couldn’t beĀ  put into equal groups of 2, 5 and 10 and that they had leftovers or remainders.
