Year 3 you have been brilliant this week with our fractions! Can you explain how you find the equivalent fraction for one third, one fifth and one quarter?Β

Today I have been learning about equivalent fractions in Maths. Equivalent fractions for one fifths is two tenths. Two eighths and three twelfth go into one quarter. Two sixths and four twelfth go into one third.
Thank you for teaching us about equivalent fractions and simplifying them.

Miss Bembridge your the best teacher in the universe. My favourite subject is maths and I don’t want to stop learning about fractions. Please can we learn more about fractions for one more week. Also after we finished learning about the romans maby can we learn about planets because I know a lot about planets and probably I can teach the class. love:Arion

The equivalent fractions to one third are four twelfths and two sixths.
The equivalent fraction to one fifth is two tenths.
The equivalent fractions to one quarter are two eighths and three twelfths.

This is because these fractions all fit into one third, one fifth and one quarter.

The equivalent fraction for one third is two fifth, three eights two sixth and equivalent fractions to one quarter are two fifth, one sixth but the last fraction is one fifth and the equivalent fractions to it are two eighth,
three twelfth, three tenth and loads of other more fractions are equivalent to all of them.

Look again at the fraction wall Samiha. One third. If we times the numerator which is one by 2, then we need to do the same for the denominator. So what would the equivalent fraction be for one third?

Miss. Bembridge you have been a big inspiration i cannot thank you enough for this year, you made me the person i am, thanks and you were the one who made me understand Equivalent fractions at the start i was ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS!!! love Inayat π i cant imagine my life without you

Year 3, Your enthusiasm for fractions is fantastic! Isn’t it great when you finally understand something you previously found difficult? As Miss Bembridge for some fractions words problems so you can apply what you have learned.

Fractions were the best lesson in Maths. We have been learning about equivalent fractions and simplifying them. What ever you divide at the top you do to the bottom.

Miss Bembridge im sincerely sorry for not doing my homework, i was having a really depressing holiday as i had to stay in hospital from 9:30 am to 23:00 pm everyday???

You can find an equivalent fraction by, you know the line through the middle, It shows all the fractions equivalent to 1/2. ect. What is equivalent to 1/4?

Howdy, Miss Bembridge
two sixth would go into one third because on the fraction wall two sixth…if you half the fraction wall you’ll see that they are the same with two sixth with one third.

The fractions equivalent to 1/5 are 2/6 and 4/12.

The fraction equivalent to 1/3 is 2/10.

The fractions equivalent to 1/4 are 2/8 and 3/12.

Sorry my first comment I made a mistake 2/6 go into 1/3.

Great correcting!

Can two tenths go into one third? Check again π

To work them out, you can see a line for each fraction. Ect. What is equivalent to 1/3?

I like fractions (; .

The equivalent fraction of 1 = 1

3 6

The equivalent fraction of one third is? Have a look at the fraction wall! π

I find the fractions ? easyer than most subjects? can we have different subjects.

Which subjects in maths would you like to look at again?

In school I’m really impassioned to do my learning when maths comes and we do fractions and it’s all because of the best teacher in the world.

Thank you Miss Bembridge for letting us do some fractions in maths because I really enjoy it!

Thank you for trying your best Samiha!
